Playground Friends currently consists of twelve Year Five children. In January, they successfully completed a ‘Playground Leadership Training’ session along with the dinner staff and Mrs Hodgson. New equipment has been purchased including a crazy golf set, a frisbee net and a magnetic dart board to name just a few. With the training and new equipment, they now plan activities for the children in KS1 and KS2 on a dinnertime. Not only will the Playground Friends be planning games for the children across school but they will also be available to any children in need of a friend. Throughout the year, the children will train other Year Five’s to support them.
The Year Five children are currently working towards achieving The Archbishop of York Young Leaders’ Award…for more information, please click the link below:
Dear Mrs Hodgson,
Thank you for the invitation to present the Young Leaders’ Award to the year 5 students at Fairfield Primary School in the summer and for the wonderful letters I received from some of your pupils. I particularly like Pippa’s aim of putting “sunshine in people’s lives” and I hope the children are enjoying the course so far.
I would be delighted to visit Fairfield to meet with the children and present the awards, and the date I can do this is Tuesday 28 June 2016.
With every blessing
